Q: What is a standout memory you have about your time in the Launch Group?

Enjoyed the learning process. Came into Launchbox with no improv experience and had to learn a lot. After taking classes later on it was amazing to see how the experience changed the way I looked at scripts and was open to more choices. I will never forget all the memories and laughs!

Steve Forbes

Pre-Launch, Steve came up through the Renaissance Festival circuit. He then became a popular face at the Somerset Collection and Oakland County Parks & Wavepools performing holiday puppet shows and/or running karaoke DJ parties. Steve also presented to elementary school students around the state about health, wellness, and the dangers of substance abuse with the Children’s Theatre of Michigan. (These are not jokes.) Enter GO COMEDY. Using that knowledge of substance abuse, Steve thrived within the improv community, taking the GO stage with “Launchbox” and 1st time B.I.T.S. Tournament winners “Baby Leroy”, as well as many scripted shows and All-Star Showdowns. He also became a Home Team member at the famous Planet Ant Theater in Hamtramck, MI. You may recognize Steve as “that guy” from several pizza, local law office, and Detroit Zoo commercials. Taking full advantage of the Michigan golden tax credit era, Steve expanded his scope by appearing in, and being cut out of, some of Hollywood’s highest grossing films like: OZ the Great and Powerful, Batman v. Superman, Red Dawn, Transformers 2, and Little Red Devil starring Daniel Baldwin. Riding that tidal wave of momentum, Steve packed his bags and was extradited to Los Angeles in hopes of taking his vision to a global level. Since then he has graced the streaming screen, being featured in a NATIONAL Gorton’s fish commercial, and puppeting “broccoli” and “corn” in a NATIONAL Progressive Insurance commercial. He is currently screenwriting feature films and producing episodic television. So suck on THAT! Steve survives in Santa Monica, CA with his loving wife Jackie, his 4 month old human son Emmett, his 8 year old dog son Luigi, and 2 year old cat daughter Pawlie. Just try and come at him. See what happens.

Q: What is a standout memory you have about your time in the Launch Group?

Much like the WuTang Clan, it was IMPOSSIBLE to get all members on the same stage at the same time. Also, no matter how far out we would get at times, and that was PRETTY fucking far out, Ryan Parmenter could come up with some bonkers and/or obscure reference that would tie everything up in a lovely little bow. You gotta have one of those on your team. Get a Parmenter.
