Wednesday 7pm Show
Improv Nerds, Awkward Besties, Shallow Water Blackout, and Super Scaries: The Improvised Horror Musical
Improv Nerds (Detroit, MI) The Improv Nerds are thrilled to return to the Detroit Improv Festival this year! Made up of members of The Detroit Creativity Project's Youth Advisory Team and Teaching Artists, this group has spent the summer performing, facilitating workshops, and evaluating Improv programs. They have previously performed at the Detroit Women of Comedy Festival, and facilitated workshops at the Youth Development Resource Center and Youth Driven Spaces Conference. The Improv Nerds are proud to be a part of this festival!
Awkward Besties (Detroit, MI) We're the Awkward Besties! A socially questionable cluster of professionally awkward friends from Metro Detroit.
Shallow Water Blackout (Grand Rapids, MI) High-energy, satisfying, and always unexpected. Pack your floaties, because there’s no toe dipping with Shallow Water Blackout. Our callbacks go deep. Our collective wit is as wet as a lifeguard’s whistle. Our Yes-and-ing harmonies reverberate like storied sea sirens from the murky abyss. You know…in a good way. We’re highly experienced long-form improvisers who are always up for a swim. Audiences simply can’t resist! True to improv, no two shows are alike except for our strong chemistry on stage and passion for the craft.
Super Scaries: The Improvised Horror Musical (Chicago, IL) Super Scaries: The Improvised Horror Musical is back - and more terrifying than ever. Super Scaries presents a completely made-up narrative musical that conjures an entirely new nightmare each night - never seen before, never to be seen again. The cast crafts a chilling tale from one audience suggestion of an ordinary object that turns out to be anything but. A cursed hairbrush that steals your best friend. A radio that won’t stop whispering your name. A key that unlocks something best left closed. Equal parts terror and hilarity, Super Scaries is a darkly funny dive into fear, fate, and the unexpected, before it's gone forever by the final note.

The Local Strays, Chisa & Zink, Jan & George, and Chariot
The Local Strays (Cincinnati, OH) The Local Strays is a long form troupe bent on turning genres and themes upside down.
Chisa & Zink (Burlington, VT) We are a twoprov team that performs a heartfelt, cozy, and silly monoscene.
Jan & George (Toronto, ONT) Jan & George are buddies, but they're NOT COPS! Chaos reigns when friends who trust each other unconditionally build characters, games, and scenes at the speed of funny. "Practically vaudevillian" says Poetry Brothel Toronto, "Always a crowd favorite" says The World's Biggest Improv Tournament. Don't miss this unstoppable comedy duo.
Chariot (Chicago, IL) Chariot is an iO House Team formed in January 2026. Coming from various backgrounds, the group works with coach Mary Catherine Curren to refine their Harold & longform skills while utilizing their zany chemistry to create playful and strong sets.
